Originally designed by Vitavox technical chief David Young back in 1978, the Oracle is a freestanding horn. Exquisitely executed traditional exterior cabinetry hides the stage-ready muscle of the Vitavox drivers and horn housed within. The epitome of unassuming power.
In its basic 2-way configuration the Oracle is no ordinary performer, but it also provides a flexible and upgradable platform for those wishing to go 3 or even 4-way. Nearly five decades old it may be, but, well...anyone wanna fight?
It uses the same components as CN-191 but housed in a freestanding, rather than a corner enclosure. The AK151 15” cone driver is front loaded to a folded bass horn and rear loaded to a vented chamber. A high mass variant of the R300W dispersive, driven by the S2, is securely fixed inside the cabinet not only providing effortless HF extension but also assisting in creating an ultra rigid, non resonant enclosure. Belt, braces and an extra belt for luck...
It can be specified with either an onboard or matching outboard crossover, and Vitavox SC1 high purity oxygen free copper internal wiring and VX-4, 4mm binding posts complete the package. Custom built to our usual exacting standards it is superbly finished in a choice of hardwoods and veneers.

Oracle

Fitted with a phase correction plug, the AK151 cone driver effortlessly achieves an extra octave of performance above that which would be expected from a 15" driver in a horn loaded application such as this. In addition to ensuring there is no 'hole in the middle' at crossover it is critical to the smooth decay of the low frequency response in the octave above.
The S2 unit and R300 horn seamlessly take over in the upper frequencies to add the detail, precision and dispersion control necessary to create the perfect stereo soundstage.
The Vitavox Oracle in this classic form, may 'only' be a 2-way system, but the ingenious design of the bass driver and its cabinet, coupled with the legendary capabilities of the S2 pressure driver and R300 dispersive horn mean that its performance bandwidth is enormously satisfying, with all the clarity, 'presence' and dynamics that only horns can bring.

PERFORMANCE UPGRADE OPTIONS
ORACLE
Several upgrade options are available to lift the performance of this magnificent loudspeaker system still further. All upgrades can be retro fitted.
1. Uprated drive units.
Two of the finest drive units ever designed - the AK151 and S2 - are fitted as standard to the Oracle. These are enough to satisfy even the most demanding audiophiles, but we have continued to seek to improve even on these. We can now offer uprated units, the LGK151 and S4. These incorporate ultra rigid, high mass chassis assemblies which improve dynamics and resolution across the full frequency range.

2. Low pressure base.
Hand-built in solid hardwood and finished to match the partnering cabinet, the low pressure base elegantly raises the cabinet, improving cabinet isolation and modifying the bass driver rear chamber characteristics to further improve bass control and definition.
3. Integration of Vitavox TR32 HF for
3-way full range performance.
The Vitavox TR32 horn loaded compression tweeter can be fitted to the Oracle to create a 3-way system, with a high frequency response extending to beyond 21kHz. It is mounted on the Time Traveller support which incorporates time domain adjustment. The necessary larger filter circuit, the NW-500X, is accommodated in an outboard unit, hand-built and exquisitely finished to match the cabinets.
4. Salvo Corner Bass Enclosure.
These dedicated low bass enclosures are of the folded horn type and designed to be placed in, or near, a corner. They are designed to be used with, and finished to match, the 3-way Oracle system, adding an extra octave of low frequency performance and creating a 4-way, all horn-loaded full range system capable of world leading performance.
NOTE In addition to the upgrades listed above, further custom finishes are also available to special order. Unique veneer patterns, inlay and additional ornamentation can be incorporated after individual consultation.
