R300W
The Vitavox R300W is a high mass, non-resonant radial dispersive horn with a cut-off frequency of 300 Hz.
When used with the Vitavox S2 and S4 drivers, it is designed to give the correct expansion geometry all the way from the diaphragm to the horn mouth, thus eliminating unwelcome internal reflections and ensuring the smooth and progressive development of the wavefront.
The beautiful lines of the horn's exponential geometry and striking appearance of the laminated beech, coupled with the clarity and rich tonality of playback mean that the R300W can provide the visual as well as the acoustic heart of the loudspeaker.

The two opposing profiles which form the horn's exponential expansion are shaped from beech plywood, a material which combines density, stiffness and stability with ideal mass damping. Between them, close to the horn entry, three specially profiled vanes control the radiation pattern, ensuring a broad and consistent sound field across the frequency range. The entire assembly is spray finished in tough polyurethane lacquer and hand rubbed to a deep shine.
The same, optimal, expansion characteristics are found when these horns are used with other Vitavox 'S' Type 1.5" screw mount drivers, and adaptors are also available to special order to enable them to be used with appropriate pressure drivers from other manufacturers.
All driver mounting accessories are available in aluminium or gunmetal bronze, finished in tough stove enamel.
This horn forms a critical part of our Classic Horn Systems, CN-191 and Oracle, and an evolution of it, with still higher mass, can be found in the T3 module.
